Nasz egzemplarzy to zwyczajna sklepowa sztuka, a okazał się bardziej podatny na overclocking od wersji wysyłanych na premierę. Dodatkowo, napięcie konieczne do uzyskania maksymalnych taktowań (1.32V) było zbliżone do fabrycznego (1.300). Tak właśnie w praktyce wygląda loteria krzemowa. Jednostka nie posiada w zestawie systemu chłodzenia, który trzeba dokupić osobno, najlepiej w postaci AiO 280-360 mm jeśli myślicie o podkręcaniu.

Pamięci DDR5 Patriot Viper Extreme 5 RGB 8000 MHz CL38-48-48-84, to najmocniejszy zestaw 2x 16 GB występujący w ofercie producenta. Moduły bazują na kościach SK-Hynix (A-Die) i wymagają napięcia 1.45V do uzyskania stuprocentowej stabilności. O temperatury nie trzeba się martwić, ponieważ producent zastosował aluminiowe radiatory, a termopadem przykryty jest również regulator PMIC. Kontroler w procesorze Intel Core i7-14700K podołał takiemu zadaniu, DDR5-8000 MHz CL38 zapisane w profilu XMP 3.0 wskoczyło bez problemu, zaś finalnie uzyskałem 8400 MHz przy delikatnie poprawionych timingach drugiego rzędu.

Oprócz dobrego kontrolera w procesorze oraz odpowiednio szybkiego zestawu pamięci RAM DDR5, trzeba jeszcze posiadać płytę główną, która pozwoli ustabilizować wartości prezentowane powyżej. ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore, a także poprzednia wersja na chipsecie Intel Z790, uchodzą za najlepsze pozycje do overclockingu CPU i RAM. Chociaż cena ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore jest wysoka (~3000 zł), to wiele gorszych modeli o gamingowym charakterze okazuje się droższych, a możliwościami overclockingu nawet nie zbliża do Apexów. Obecność dwóch slotów DDR5 jest zamierzona i sprzyja stabilizacji wysokim dzielnikom RAM.
